Sharply rising gas production from the Zohr field will further reduce Egypt’s reliance on imported LNG.

Egypt is currently producing gas from Zohr’s first phase, the three operational trains of which have a combined capacity of 28.65 million cubic metres per day (MMcm/d). The government expects Zohr’s output to reach 49.5 MMcm/d by the end of August once the fourth train of Phase 1 and the first train of Phase 2 are brought online.
