The role of gas in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries is set to grow, helped by the GCC’s rising production.

The six GCC countries – Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates – consumed a total of 274 billion cubic metres of gas in 2016, accounting for around 43% of the MEA’s demand.
