Sharjah National Oil Corp. (SNOC) was set up in 2010 to take over the emirate of Sharjah’s gas assets, which were first developed in the 1970s. Little onshore exploration work has been carried out in recent years, but SNOC is now looking to boost exploration activity and commissioned a seismic survey that was completed in February. SNOC has also partnered with Uniper for an LNG import project, which is scheduled to start up in 2019. Hatem al-Mosa, the company’s chief executive, discusses the emirate’s upstream and LNG import plans.
