
After years of delays, there is a cautious optimism in Maputo over Mozambique’s LNG projects. Anadarko and its Area 1 partners look likely to take an FID on their 12.9 mtpa development next year. There is also a growing confidence ExxonMobil, despite entering the Area 4 project less than a year ago, will do the same.
Mozambique still faces many hurdles – not least that the Area 4 partners need a market for their LNG and to tie up the billion-dollar debt financing....
