Uzbekistan has postponed the construction of a fourth gas pipeline to China until 2016 because of technical reasons, the country’s national oil and gas company Uzbekneftegaz told Interfax.

It is not yet known precisely when construction will begin. Uzbekistan had previously planned to start building the fourth pipeline at the end of 2015.

The 210 km Uzbek section of the fourth line is estimated to cost $800 million.
