
The European Commission may have thrown the NGV industry a lifeline after proposing carbon dioxide targets for trucks for the first time. Last week, the commission proposed a legally binding target for CO2 emissions from new trucks to be reduced by 15% by 2025 compared with 2019 levels. It also proposed a 30% target by 2030, but this is only indicative and may be scaled up after a review set for 2022.
