Upbeat for Oman’s LNG exports
Sharply rising production of non-associated gas has caused Oman to re-evaluate its LNG export strategy. The government is now considering expanding Oman’s capacity to export LNG by debottlenecking its Qalhat liquefaction plant. Nevertheless, plans to boost the sultanate’s gas output even further mean Oman may have to add new trains at Qalhat as debottlenecking alone may not be enough. Oman is also considering providing LNG bunkering services, but there are challenges ahead.
