Gas is gaining prominence in North Africa’s energy mix as countries such as Egypt and Algeria focus on reinvigorating their upstream sectors. Gas will continue to play a pivotal role in meeting energy demand in North African countries, but upstream developments in Egypt and Algeria will see greater commercialisation of the fuel by boosting pipeline gas and LNG exports from the two countries.
