African nations must move away from resource nationalism

 

Substantial gas discoveries off the coast of East Africa are set to provide a significant cash injection to local economies, but governments must move away from resource nationalism and adopt a more market-based approach to oil and gas development if they are to make the most of their new found assets, the president of the African Institute of Petroleum, Duncan Clarke, said on Tuesday.
