The gas markets of Southeast Asia are expanding, and with them the region’s LNG imports. Substantial growth in regasification capacity is planned that will boost Southeast Asia’s importance as an LNG hub and see the region’s smaller markets account for an increasing share of Asian LNG imports. However, not all of the new capacity proposed is expected to come online as planned, and the growth will face challenges.
