Japan’s nuclear generation was boosted in June when Kyushu Electric restarted its 1.2 GW Genkai 4 reactor. The unit is the fourth reactor to restart in Japan this year, following Genkai 3 and Kansai Electric’s Ohi 3 and 4. Japan has brought 4.7 GW of nuclear capacity back online so far in 2018.
