Maintenance at LNG plants is expected to keep MEA LNG exports under pressure in the near term.
Algeria’s LNG exports have been curtailed because of maintenance at the 4.5 mtpa Skikda liquefaction plant. Skikda was taken offline for 40-50 days of scheduled maintenance on 9 March and has not exported any cargoes since 4 March. Consequently, Algeria exported only 820,000 tons of LNG last month, marking a year-on-year decline of 32.2%.
