Spot LNG prices in Northeast Asia are being driven up by strong gas demand and high LNG import requirements. Regional spot prices for June delivery are around $8.4/MMBtu, while average prices for August delivery are expected to reach $10/MMBtu.
Maintenance and weak indigenous output have supported European hub prices. Demand for gas to rebuild storage volumes is also helping to tighten the market. The NBP month-ahead was around 54-56 p/th in mid-June and is forecast to average around 56 p/th in Q4.
