3 June — A representative of France’s Total will replace Vnesheconombank (VEB) chairman, Vladimir Dmitriyev, on the board of directors at gas producer, Novatek.
Novatek said that a list of candidates for election to the board had been approved for this year’s AGM, scheduled for 27 June.
There are nine candidates for nine seats on the board. Dmitriyev does not figure among them, but a representative of Total, Yves-Louis Darricarrere, president of Total Exploration & Production, which has bought around 12% of Novatek’s shares, has been included.
Gazprombank chief, Andrei Akimov and Kirill Seleznev, head of marketing, gas processing and hydrocarbons at Gazprom as well as the general director of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz, will retain their seats. Gazprom sold 9.4% of Novatek to Gazprombank at the end of 2010 and the bank granted a two-year option to Hibridge Ventures Ltd, owned by Novatek’s core shareholders Gennady Timchenko and Leonid Mikhelson on a parity basis, to buy the shares.
The remaining candidates are also incumbent board members: former E.ON Ruhrgas CEO Burkhard Bergman; Novatek’s board
chairman, Alexander Natalenko; Troika Dialog board chairman Ruben Vardanian; Novatek’s Finance and Strategy Director Mark Gyetvey; executive board chairman Leonid Mikhelson; and Gennady Timchenko, co-owner of Swiss oil trader Gunvor.
