
China’s shale gas sector suffered a setback last week as local residents blamed fracking for three earthquakes in two days in Sichuan province that killed two people and left a dozen injured.
Three earthquakes struck Rongxian county, located about 170 km south of Sichuan’s provincial capital of Chengdu, in late February, with local magnitudes of 4.3-4.9, according to the county government.
