Qatar has made its energy strategy clear by deciding to leave OPEC. The country will expand its footprint abroad in both the oil and gas sectors. Meanwhile, its focus on increasing its domestic gas production and LNG exports will continue. Qatar will vigorously defend its share of the LNG market, and leaving OPEC is a part of this plan.
