European gas storage levels steadily increased in early July but remain low in comparison with recent years
Europe had around 597 TWh of gas in stock by the middle of July. This left stored volumes down by 3% on an annual basis and by 18% compared with 2016. Stocks are also below the average seen for the previous four years. Stored volumes increased by 11% during the first half of July, broadly the same pace of net injections seen during the same period last year.
