Commission clears Shell’s acquisition of Repsol LNG assets

The European Commission has approved Shell’s acquisition of several LNG assets from Repsol, it announced this week.

The European Commission has approved Shell’s acquisition of several LNG assets from Repsol, it announced this week.

The two companies said in February that Shell intended to buy LNG assets from Repsol for $6.7 billion.

The agreement includes assets of Atlantic LNG in Trinidad and Tobago, Peru LNG, as well as LNG sale contracts and time charters. A 25% stake in the Bahía de Bizkaia Electricidad power plant in Spain is also included in the sale.
