The launch of the third bidding round under India’s Open Acreage Licensing Policy (OALP) reveals how the government is driving to expand domestic production and limit the country’s reliance on imported LNG.

The third round was launched by Dharmendra Pradhan, minister for petroleum and natural gas, at the Petrotech 2019 conference in New Delhi on Sunday. It will run concurrently with the second licensing round, which was launched on 7 January.
