ExxonMobil and Qatar Petroleum (QP) took an FID on the Golden Pass LNG export project on Tuesday, putting pressure on rival projects to do the same as there is limited room in the market for new capacity.
Developers are looking to take FIDs this year on more than 16 LNG export projects in the United States alone, all of which aim to begin exporting before the middle of the next decade. The more capacity that is greenlit, the more difficult it will be for rival projects...
