Talks between Hungary and Russia’s Gazprom on gas supplies beyond 2020 will shape the future of gas transit in Central and Eastern Europe.

The contract between Hungary and Russia formally expired in 2015. Since then, the two countries have agreed supplies on a year-by-year basis to give Budapest the chance to make use of unused volumes included in the expired contract.
