Tellurian, the company behind the planned Driftwood LNG project in Louisiana, will face stiff competition from rival developers in its bid to drive the penetration of gas in emerging markets.

Driftwood LNG, a 27.6 mtpa liquefaction facility on which Tellurian aims to take FID in the first half of 2019, plans to ship first volumes in 2023 – a time when the global LNG market is expected to be tightening. The project should therefore benefit from rising prices and strong demand in Asia,...
