ExxonMobil could start work on its Blue Whale gas project in Vietnam in November to coincide with the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, according to Vietnam Express.
The Blue Whale field is Vietnam’s largest gas prospect and could contribute $20 billion to the state budget.
The gas will be delivered to power stations and is set to start production in 2023.
