The Israeli government is considering a Qatari plan to build a gas pipeline from Israel to the Gaza Strip, Israeli website YnetNews reported on Sunday.
The proposal would allow Israel to send gas to Gaza’s only power plant, helping reduce the power shortage in the region. Gaza’s power plant can currently only produce eight hours of electricity per day. About 28% of Gaza’s electricity is produced within the strip, with Israel and Egypt supplying the remaining shares, Ynet reported.
