Demand growth in China will be strong over the winter, pulling up regional consumption growth.

Chinese gas consumption was up by 7% on an annual basis in October. A similar increase is expected over the winter (October-March), although northern gas markets could see greater growth. Consumption is expected to be boosted in key regional gas markets as provincial governments push through gasification policies. Although lower prices are supporting gas offtake, policy will be key to growth next year.
