Increased GDP growth will support expansion in developing Asian gas markets.
India will see greater economic expansion this year, with GDP forecast to expand by 7.6% in 2017 compared with 7.0% in 2016. This will enable higher growth in the energy market, resulting in increased demand for gas. GDP growth is expected to increase further in 2018 and in 2019, reaching 7.8% in both years. India’s rising gas demand will require additional LNG imports as domestic production continues to struggle.
