Australian gas production growth is picking up pace, but the domestic market could still face supply issues.

Australian output rose by 11% year on year in March, while LNG exports were up by 63%. Production growth is expected to stay strong as new supply comes online, and annual increases in supply are expected over the summer. However, as the rise in LNG exports outstrips that of production, the availability of gas for the domestic market continues to be a concern for buyers, especially in eastern Australia where the new LNG projects are based.
