Rosneft’s acquisition of a 20% stake in joint gas production venture Severenergia in northern Russia will put the company in partnership with rivals Novatek and Gazprom.
Rosneft has agreed to buy a 40% stake in Arctic Russia from Italy’s Enel, the company announced on Tuesday. Arctic Russia – a JV between Italian Eni and Enel, which hold 60% and 40%, respectively – holds a 49% stake in the Severenergia venture.
