Norwegian gas production for June exceeded forecasted levels by just under 1 billion cubic metres, the latest data from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) have shown.
Production for June stood at 8.4 bcm – 12.6% higher than the 7.5 bcm forecast by the NPD, but 1% lower than the equivalent figure for June 2012.
Strong June volumes were delivered, despite a number of fields shut down for planned maintenance work. The affected fields were located in the Ekofisk area, which lies approximately 320 km southwest of Stavanger.
