The government of South Africa will approve its final integrated resource plan (IRP) in March – the last step needed before the independent power producer (IPP) unit can finalise the terms of its LNG import tender and release its request for proposals later this year. If the process does not restart soon, the government will miss its target of getting 2.25 GW of gas-fired power online by 2026.
