Delays to the Alexandroupolis LNG project in northwestern Greece highlight the tightness in the FSRU market and indicate that longer lead times could be needed to deliver such projects in Europe and elsewhere in the world.

Gastrade, the developer of the 5.5 billion cubic metre per year regasification project, has pushed back its completion date from the end of 2020 to the second quarter of 2021 to give interested suppliers more time to deliver an FSRU.
