
Sharjah National Oil Co. (SNOC) has prequalified 12 companies as part of its first onshore licensing round and aims to sign contracts by early January.
Interest in the round was higher than expected given other licensing rounds are taking place at the same time in the neighbouring emirates of Abu Dhabi and Ras al-Khaimah. There is a general push across the United Arab Emirates for gas exploration to meet growing domestic demand.
