The prospects that an LNG terminal will be built in Germany look better than ever as a result of growing political support coupled with interest from major German and Qatari companies.

Germany’s RWE announced this week that it had signed a heads of agreement to book “a considerable part” of the capacity of the proposed Hamburg LNG project with developer German LNG Terminal – a joint venture between Gasunie, Vopak and Oiltanking.
