
Qatar Petroleum (QP) and Chevron are the latest companies to abandon their offshore acreage in Morocco, but some IOCs remain optimistic about the potential of the country’s waters.
Chevron and QP – which together held licences for the Cap Rhir Deep, Cap Cantin Deep and Cap Walidia Deep concessions – left their acreage earlier this year, an official at Morocco’s National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM) told Interfax Natural Gas Daily. Chevron declined to comment on the matter.
