
California-based solar power company GlassPoint commissioned the first stage of its Miraah project in Oman last month. When complete, the project will generate 6,000 tons per day of steam for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) at the Amal West oilfield, cutting gas consumption at the field by around 30%.
Marwan Chaar, GlassPoint’s vice president of project development, told Interfax Natural Gas Daily about the technology’s gas-saving potential.
