Norway’s full-scale carbon capture and storage (CCS) project is in danger after Oslo proposed cutting its funding by 90%, Gassnova, the state company leading the project, has warned. 

The newly elected Norwegian government presented its budget for 2018 on 12 October, in which it suggested providing a grant of only NOK 20 million ($2.5 million) for feasibility studies on a full-scale CCS system because of political concerns over the cost. The original figure allocated for this year was NOK 370 million.
