Turkey will lean more heavily on spot LNG purchases during the shoulder months because of low spot prices.
Turkey has paid an average of just under $6/MMBtu for spot LNG for April delivery, lower than the $6.8/MMBtu average for March delivery. This has prompted it to increase the uptake of LNG under short-term contracts and on the spot market.
