
Italian oil and gas contractor Saipem has signed an agreement with Gazprom to conduct feasibility studies and engineering work on the first phase of a new pipeline project in Serbia.
The agreement provides the strongest indication yet that Gazprom – through its 100% owned Serbian subsidiary Gastrans – plans to move ahead with its so-called ‘South Stream Lite’ project, which would connect the second line of Turkish Stream to Western European markets.
