By all accounts, Juan José Aranguren, who had served as Argentina’s energy minister since President Mauricio Macri took office in December 2015, was not a man who was expecting to lose his job.
Aranguren spent the morning of Saturday 16 June with United States Energy Secretary Rick Perry watching Argentina play Iceland in the World Cup. The two men watched the game in the picturesque lakeside town of Bariloche, which lies in the foothills of the Andes.
