
The use of LNG for vehicles and at industrial installations has grown rapidly in Italy over the past few years. But the high cost of sourcing LNG from elsewhere in Europe is still limiting the potential of the sector, especially in southern Italy. Italian transmission system operator (TSO) Snam Rete Gas claims it has a cheaper solution – liquefying gas from its network at facilities around the country.
