Oil and gas players in the Malaysian state of Sarawak will be required to abide by local state laws from 1 July as well as national regulations, Sarawak’s chief minister, Abang Johari Openg, has said, according to Free Malaysia Today.
Sarawak is one of Malaysia’s major oil- and gas-producing regions and is seeking to take greater control of the sector from the national government.
