IEA emissions data shows gas faces uphill struggle

Data released this month by the International Energy Agency (IEA) suggests gas is not benefiting as much as it could from the move to a lower-carbon world.

Carbon emissions from the global energy sector remained flat for the third year in a row in 2016, at 32.1 billion tons, the IEA said.
