China has announced sweeping changes to the management of its NOCs – a move that was widely expected after recent media speculation that the country’s oil industry was in a state of flux.

The appointments were confirmed in separate company statements on Monday, and will take place amid an unrelenting crackdown on corruption in various state-dominated sectors, as well as reforms aimed at modernising the state energy giants.
