The reopening of the UK’s Rough storage facility has been delayed. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s stock drawdowns are picking up pace.

Rough – which accounts for around 70% of the UK’s gas storage capacity – was due to reopen for withdrawals on 1 November. However, operator Centrica Storage announced a delay to reopening the facility in late October because tests had yet to be completed. Rough will remain closed until the second half of November, meaning the UK is having to use stocks from other sites to help meet its needs.
