Bolivian gas exports are expected to fall in 2017 as Argentina and Brazil reduce their reliance on imports of pipeline gas.

Bolivia pipes gas to Argentina and Brazil, providing it with much-needed export revenue. However, Bolivia’s neighbours are increasing their gas production – Argentina is focusing on output from its shale plays, whereas Brazil’s pre-salt gas production is climbing. The two countries’ growing domestic gas output has already massively reduced their reliance on imported LNG, and pipeline imports are declining as well.
