Latin American gas demand will remain under pressure in the coming months, partly due to the region’s weakening economy.
The total gas demand from key consumers in Latin America and the Caribbean – Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Trinidad & Tobago, Colombia, Peru, Chile and Bolivia – fell by 1.4% on an annual basis in H1 2016, to 124.5 bcm. GGA expects the countries’ combined gas demand to fall by 2% year on year in 2016, to 247.8 bcm.
