
The onset of the 2016-2017 gas withdrawal season in the United States in November, together with the prospect of a cold start to the winter in the northeast US are expected to increase price volatility at the Transco Z6 pricing point in New York in the coming weeks. The state of New York is expanding its gas pipeline infrastructure, but this will not be enough to substantially reduce pipeline supply constraints in the state if the winter is cold.
