Western Australia’s Woodside Energy is deep in LNG contract negotiations and renegotiations with Japanese buyers, and aims to lock in at least some of its future Browse production by mid-2014, Chief Executive Peter Coleman said during a conference call on Tuesday.

Around 70% of Woodside’s LNG portfolio is up for renegotiation, according to Bernstein Research. As well as marketing gas from the planned Browse FLNG project, offtake from the new Pluto LNG plant is also up for review. It was initially sold with a 30-50% discount...
