Rosneft gas output doubles, earnings beat consensus

The scale of Rosneft’s ambition in the Russian gas market became clear last year, with the company’s output increasing by more than 130%.

In what company President Igor Sechin dubbed a “transformational year” Rosneft signalled it wants to become Russia’s second-largest gas producer – a clear challenge to current number two Novatek – and to increase gas production to 100 billion cubic metres in 2020.
