Woodside Petroleum and Total are close to approving a multibillion-dollar gas field development off the coast of Myanmar following recent successful drilling in the country’s deepwater acreage. But while this is good news for Myanmar’s upstream sector, a revival in domestic production could limit demand for imported LNG.
